Zain Ali

Computer Science graduate of UET Taxila, building and evaluating vision models for medical imaging and multimodal understanding.

About

I graduated in July 2026 with a BS in Computer Science from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. My research interests center on Computer Vision, Medical AI, Multimodal Learning, and Trustworthy AI.

I am particularly interested in how models combine visual, acoustic, textual, and structured information to make decisions that remain reliable beyond benchmark settings. My work has explored medical image classification, multimodal behavioral analysis, imbalanced learning, and AI research pipelines that combine evidence retrieval with LLM-based reasoning.

I care about building AI systems that are interpretable, robust, and honest about uncertainty and failure modes, especially in healthcare and other high-impact settings where confident mistakes can be costly.

Alongside research, I build production software across the full stack and have served as a Stanford Code in Place Section Leader, teaching introductory computer science.

Experience

Full Stack DeveloperatGhetch OS

Jun 2025 - Present

Remote

  • Build and ship end-to-end product features across a TypeScript/React front end and a Python service layer.
  • Design REST APIs and data models, and own the integration work between the client, backend services, and third-party providers.
  • Improve page performance and reliability through query optimisation, caching, and instrumentation of hot paths.
  • Work asynchronously with a distributed team, reviewing code and maintaining deployment workflows.

Backend DeveloperatFireprenair

Aug 2024 - Apr 2025

Remote

  • Developed and maintained backend services and REST APIs powering the core product.
  • Modelled relational schemas and wrote migrations, keeping data access patterns efficient as the dataset grew.
  • Integrated authentication, payments, and external APIs, with error handling and logging around each boundary.
  • Wrote tests and participated in code review to keep releases predictable.
